Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

I can’t believe that it is almost Thanksgiving! This year has flown by so fast, but I am so ready for all of the family get-togethers and yummy food. I’ve put together a round-up of some outfit ideas for the holiday. I know I always struggle to put an outfit together, but I wanted to get ahead of the game this year!

Some of these outfits can be easily replicated with items that you already have in your closet. I’ve also provided links for everything if you want to shop for some new pieces! Happy (almost) Thanksgiving!

 New Activewear Finds

I’m always on the hunt for new activewear to wear during my workouts, dancing, or even when I am lounging around the house or running errands. Finding quality activewear is honestly SO much harder than you would think. I always like to find pieces that are flattering on my body type, and those aren’t always the pieces or brands that are trending.

I’m also pretty picky when it comes to fabrics, style, and how it fits my body. It can be challenging to find everything I love in one brand, so I’ve been shopping around in the hope of finding something I love and being able to share it with you.

I created my own collection with Five The Label and was able to choose EVERYTHING that I love about activewear – so this collection is, of course, my favorite. If you’re shopping for new activewear, make sure to take advantage of their Black Friday Sale! The entire collection is 30% off.

I’m sharing some of my other favorite pieces below for you to shop as well! Let me know if you like them or have any recommendations for new brands to try.

Cozy Recipes

I swear the cooler months always make me want to cook more – there’s seriously nothing like a warm home-cooked dinner. Today, I’m sharing a few of my cozy favorite recipes with you guys!! Let me know if you try them!

1. Jalapeño Popper Chicken

This is definitely not the healthiest meal, but it is one of the yummiest!! I also have this saved under my “Recipes” highlight on Instagram.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 6 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 c. shredded cheddar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 slices bacon, cut into 2″ strips (optional)
  • 3 jalapeños, thinly sliced

Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400º. Make a slit in each chicken breast, but don’t cut all of the way through – make a “pouch” for the filling. Transfer the breasts to a small baking sheet and season all over with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, stir together the cream cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Stuff each chicken breast with bacon (optional – you can also put this on top if you like!), sliced jalapeños, and cream cheese mixture. (*I also like to batter mine in bread crumbs and sear it in the pan for a couple of minutes before throwing it in the oven – adds the best crunch!)  Bake until bacon is crisp and chicken is cooked through and no longer pink, about 25 minutes.

2. Fall Soup

Not only do I love making soup because it is easy, but I also love that I can meal prep a ton and keep it in the freezer as an easy meal option. I’ve shared this recipe before, but sharing it again because it is seriously one of our favorites!!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 2 heads of cauliflower
  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 1 carton of vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Pinch of Salt

Steps:

  1. In a large pot, sauté the onions on high heat until they are white and jelly.
  2. Reduce to low temp and dump the chopped cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and can of chickpea into the stockpot. Sprinkle the salt and pour the vegetable broth until it just about covers the vegetables. Stir in the olive oil and cover.
  3. Let sit for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Take a hand blender (specific for pureeing soup), or you can pour the soup into a blender. Puree soup until nice and creamy! Add some salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!

3. Chicken Parm

Chicken Parm is one of my favorite meals. It is super easy to make, especially when I use the air fryer. You guys need to try this recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • ⅓ cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup of marinara sauce
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  1. Season your chicken with salt and pepper and set aside.
  2. Place flour in one bowl and the eggs in another (and beat!). In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, and spices.
  3. Take one piece of chicken at a time and coat in flour, dip in the eggs, and then cover in the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat for each breast.
  4. Place the chicken in the airfryer basket and cook at 400º for 5 minutes on each side.
  5. Top the chicken with sauce and mozzarella cheese and cook for another 3 minutes at 400º.

Current Hair Must Haves

I’m constantly looking for the best products for my hair, whether for styling, washing, or drying. I like to switch up my products to find what works best for my hair. I’ve honestly been so shocked by how healthy my hair is right now! It is SO long and strong, and I think that is due to the combination of products I’ve been loving lately.

Everyone’s hair is different, but I think it’s helpful to know what other people are using. So, I’ve put together a list of my current hair must-haves for you that you can shop below! I’d love to know what you have been loving, too!

Fall Bucket List

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to love fall. It really has become my favorite season out of the entire year. Here in Utah, the scenery gets so beautiful, and the temperatures are perfect. Fall is quickly fading, but I wanted to share my fall bucket list with you! Some of these things I have already done, and others I won’t get to this year.

Having a bucket list makes the season more memorable and also helps us build tradition as a family! You can find my bucket list below, but I’d also love to know what your favorite fall activities are, too.

Fall Bucket List:

  • Visit a Pumpkin Patch: This, to me is the epitome of fall – I’d love to bring home pumpkins to put in front of our house, too.
  • Take Family Photos: Utah is so beautiful at this time of year – taking family pictures with a perfect background is a must.
  • Go on a Hayride: As Sage gets older, this will be such a fun tradition to integrate into our lives.
  • Carve pumpkins: Truth be told, I’m not the greatest at doing this, but it is still SO fun.
  • Take a fall drive through the valley: There’s nothing better than putting on some good music and driving through the mountains admiring everything.
  • Buy a cozy blanket: I LOVE the Barefoot Dreams blankets from Nordstrom.
  • Treat myself to some new fall clothes: My fall wardrobe is probably my favorite, and I always like to buy new pieces every year.

Baby Products I Didn’t Think I Needed But Have Become Staples: 1 Year Edition

As a first-time mom, so many items were recommended to me for both myself and Sage. It was so overwhelming to navigate through all of the recommendations and decide which products would be worth it and which I thought I would pass on. I wrote a post about the products I used a lot early on but wanted to give you an updated list of what we have been using a lot these past few months!

I always end up buying so many new products to try. Do any other mamas buy 3 of the same toy from different brands to see what your baby likes best? Market research is a full-time job!! To help all my fellow moms out, I linked all of the items below that you didn’t know you needed but have become staples in these past few months! Let me know what you end up loving and what items are staples in your home.

Go-To Early Morning Breakfasts

I’m a mama that’s always on the go, and that calls for easy breakfasts that I can have on hand or make quickly. When I’m running around taking care of Sage and cleaning up the house, I often don’t have a ton of time to eat breakfast. I wanted to put together some of my go-to early morning breakfast ideas that are nutritious and keep me full. These are things that not only I love, but Sam also enjoys and can grab quickly to eat before he heads out for work.

First, I LOVE overnight oats, and I love that you can prep them the night before and have them ready to grab the following day. There are so many recipes out there, but my favorite is this high-protein one from Ambitious Kitchen! It’s so yummy and keeps me feeling full all morning long.

If I feel like having something similar but am really in a time crunch, I love to grab the Mush Overnight Oats. They come in so many different flavors, but I’ve been loving the Pumpkin Pie and Apple Cinnamon for the fall season.

Another go-to breakfast of mine is yogurt and berries. I use the coco june yogurt, add berries, and top it off with a little bit of cinnamon and honey. SO good.  If I’m still feeling hungry, I toast a piece of bread and put some avocado on it with a bit of salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. This one is my favorite and is perfect for people who don’t have the time *or the skill* for the fancy stuff but still want something tasty and good for you!

Sage’s Favorite Things: 1 Year

I’m in absolute denial that Sage is almost a year old (T-minus 2 days). Time has seriously flown by. I’m amazed by how much Sage has changed and grown in the past year. She has brought so much joy to our lives. It has been one whole year of holding her, kissing her, and loving her.

Now that Sage is a year old, she is walking a ton, her interests are changing, and she is playing with new things! She loves anything that is stimulating, and that grows her mind. Below are some of her favorites now that she is a year old.

Let me know what toys your little one loves to play with in the comments below!

Post Workout Snacks

As you all know, I’m all about listening to my body and what I am craving, but it’s also important to fuel up after a workout. I find that I have more energy throughout the day if I fuel up after a workout. Food is fuel, and it is essential to replenish your body with things it needs post-workout.

If I am on the go, I’ll usually grab one of my favorite protein bars. I love the Built Protein Bars so much! The protein content helps me refuel, it keeps me full and doesn’t make me crash like other protein bars.

If I have more time post-workout, I’ll make a protein shake. My favorite protein is the Ritual Essential protein (LINDSAYAC-10). It’s vanilla flavored and is filled with all clean ingredients, plus it’s so yummy. You can add this to water, milk or add it into a smoothie with berries, bananas, spinach, or anything else you’d like.

I also love to make almond butter on toast with some fruit on top. This is an easy option as well. I prefer almond butter, but add any butter you like!

Airport Staples

Traveling with Sage has changed what I bring with me in my carry-on a ton since I now have to bring everything that I need for the both of us! Since we’ve been flying back and forth to LA for such quick trips, I’ve tried to keep packing to a minimum and only bring one tote and one carry-on. Packing for Sage has changed so much now that she’s almost 1. What I used to bring when she was a newborn is different now, so I thought I would write an updated blog post on my airport staples.

  1. A carry-on bag for me & Sagey. Besides my own personal bag with Sage’s stuff (I love my MZ Wallace Tote), I will typically also bring a rolling carry-on bag on the flight with me. My favorite rolling carry-on luggage is from Away. Make sure also to get their packing cubes!! They are the biggest help – especially when you’re sharing a suitcase.
  2. Toys are a must! I typically bring a few that can keep Sage entertained when she is awake on the plane and not sleeping. These days she’s playing with bigger toys, so I try to choose some smaller ones to put in my bag. Sage’s favorites are these stackable cars and this animal puzzle. Both are great because they make no noise!
  3. I obviously always bring the staples with me, too, like diapers and wipes, and I also use the wipes to wipe everything down. My current favorites are the Honest Co. wipes, and I keep them in this little pouch along with extra cleaning supplies, including masks, hand sanitizer, and more.
  4. Another must-have is Sage’s Doona stroller and car seat. I often walk Sage through the airport in this and then tag it right before boarding! This makes things super easy when getting on and off the plane! That way, I can put her right in there and walk through without any problems!

TikTok Made Me Do It: Foodie Edition

So much of my “For-You-Page” has been filled with the most delicious food. Every time I scroll on TikTok, I pass recipes that I am drooling over, so I had to try some of the ones I’ve seen over the last few months.

Emily Mariko’s Salmon & Rice: TikTok made me try this trend. It has been all over my explore page, and I caved and decided I needed to hop on the trend, too. You take salmon and mash it up, and add rice, mayo, and sriracha. You then slice avocado and use dried seaweed to wrap everything together. I have to admit, I get the hype around this trend, and it was soo good! Learn how to make it here.

Feta Pasta: I know this is an older trend, but I’ve made it before and had to remake it again. It is so simple to make! You just add a block of feta, tomatoes, and some spices into an oven-safe dish. You bake it and add your pre-prepared pasta and mix them all together. This is such an easy meal to make – so perfect if you’re on the go. Make this for your husband, and he will be obsessed! Learn how to make it here.

Pesto Eggs: I honestly never would have thought to cook my eggs in pesto, but WOW I was pleasantly surprised. Essentially, you just put some pesto in your pan and fry your egg directly in the pesto. I am so hooked. They are delicious with a buttered piece of toast, too. Learn how to make it here

What are some of your favorite recipes you found on TikTok? Tell me in the comments below!

I wanted to share what I’ve been loving for her wardrobe for these cooler months that are upon us. You can shop all of my favorites below: from beanies to fuzzy jackets to sleep sacks and everything in between!
