Best Dressed Wedding Guest Looks

Wedding Dress Looks

It’s officially wedding season! Luckily, I don’t have too many this year, but I know that I struggled to find outfits when I was going to one every weekend. It can also get super pricey when you have multiple weddings to go to and can’t wear the same dress twice. You don’t have to spend a fortune to have a cute dress, but it can be hard to navigate all the different sites to find cute dresses at good prices. I rounded up all the best dresses under $200 for my babes on a budget and also found a few on the pricey side if you’re looking to invest in something long-term that can be worn to other events! Remember, just because you may not be able to wear the same dress to multiple weddings doesn’t mean you can’t style it differently and wear it to another type of event! I also linked some shoes and accessories to help elevate your wedding outfit to make you the best-dressed guest. Happy Shopping!

How We Are Sleep Training Sage

Sage's Sleep Schedule

I was hesitant to even write about this because I know the idea of “sleep training” in itself can be controversial, as it is so personal and different from baby to baby. Sage did not follow any schedule for the first five months at all, but I knew when the time was right for both of us to begin working toward a more structured routine. We worked toward getting two good naps each day in her crib (I was notorious for holding her during naps or just setting her down anywhere) and sleeping through the night. It took time but was worth it for my own routine with work and tasks around the house.

I didn’t even call it sleep training, but here are five things that worked for us to get her on a more consistent sleep schedule:

Start with Bedtime

Before we worried about naps, I started to pay closer attention to when we were putting her to bed. While it won’t be exact from night to night, I made sure to become a little more consistent about our nighttime routine to get her used to forming habits around sleep.

Learning Their Cries

As crazy as it sounds, I’ve tried really hard to familiarize myself with how Sage communicates what she is feeling and needing at the moment. I’ve started to know what the “I’m hungry” cry is versus the “I’m tired” cry. This has helped us in the sleep department because I can differentiate between what may be her rustling around restless in her crib or what may be something that needs my attention.

Know it Won’t be Perfect

I say this because there are definitely times when naps are shorter or longer than “planned,” and that is okay. You can plan all you want, but at the end of the day, sometimes their little bodies have something totally different in mind. If you go in with the mindset that schedules may need to be adjusted and things may not follow whichever specific guide you happen to be looking at, you’ll be better off in the long run.

Create a Safe Sleep Environment

Ensuring your baby’s sleep space follows all of the American Academy of Pediatrics Safe Sleep Recommendations will give you so much peace of mind when preparing to have your baby in their own room for naps and overnight sleep. I invested in the Newton mattress (Linds50) for Sage’s room after seeing how breathable the material is in case she rolled to her tummy.

Do Your Research

You are your baby’s #1 advocate. With so many programs and techniques out there to maximize sleep, make sure you are taking the time to read reviews, parent testimonials, and program credentials to make sure the teaching style fits your own parenting and lifestyle.

Most importantly, do what feels right for you and remember you are doing an amazing job. Also, nothing beats baby snuggles, so soak it all in while you still can!

My Go-To Workout Looks

Workout Sets

I’ve always loved athleisure, but especially after starting Move With Linds, I feel like I live in workout clothes. There are so many brands to choose from, it can feel a little overwhelming when you are looking for the perfect set. So I wanted to put together a roundup of brands that are both really great to work out in and really cute to hang around in- especially for summer!

Lululemon

If you know me, you know I am probably their #1 fan. I cannot get enough of the buttery soft Align collection and have yet to find a dupe that is a true match to the quality. I highly recommend the Align tank and Align short for summer workouts, they are definitely worth spending a little extra money on!

Beach Riot

If you’re looking for a fun pop of color or print, this is definitely the brand to find it. The Tessa top is a favorite of mine because it’s so comfortable throughout an entire workout, and it’s great to mix and match with different bottoms!

Year of Ours

I’m always on the lookout for a good ribbed workout set, and my favorite is from Year of Ours. The material is thick enough to keep everything feeling secure during a workout, and I love the wide elastic waistband of the Veronica legging.

IVL Collective

I’ve been loving IVL lately. They are a sustainable athleisure brand, and their trademarked Hydrascuplt fabric is actually infused with collagen! I recently picked up these pink watercolor leggings and the matching power bra.

Five Dancewear

This brand is the most innovative in the dancewear space and also so versatile for working out too. If you are looking for really well-made yet non-traditional dance attire that doubles as athleisure, look no further. These airbrush biker shorts are a must-have!

Free People Movement

Free People is a brand I’ve loved forever, but their movement line is one I keep going back to. I’m a big fan of their Good Karma Onesie– it’s so multifunctional and can serve so many purposes by adding or removing layers as needed (for dance, too!). They also donate a portion of their activewear proceeds to Girls Inc., making me even happier about buying workout clothes.

Good American

I’d only known Good American for their great denim, but I have bought a few pieces from their workout line and really like fit and quality. The active essential ribbed bra is a favorite of mine because it has a thicker band under the bust that provides great support and is really comfortable. This fabric also comes in leggings!

I always love sharing what I’m finding with you guys and trying new brands, too. Let me know if there are others you think I need to add to the list for summer workouts!

Living Room Decor Update

Living Room Update

As you all know, I’ve worked with Four Chairs Furniture over the last few years to design and furnish my home. We recently did a little Spring refresh in my living room and finally completed the main wall in our great room. It’s been a project on my to-do list for so long, but I just haven’t got around to it. I love interior design, but whenever I need to change some pieces or fully furnish a room, I always call Four Chairs Furniture to help me out. They offer full-service interior design and can help make any idea come to life. We’ve been in our home for a little over 2 years now and have slowly finished all the rooms. The last project we worked on together was Sage’s nursery, and it turned out incredible! We never finished the great room wall by the TV, so I’m so excited it’s finally finished. It really ties the room together, and now the room feels complete.

We decided to add shelves next to the TV because I needed to make the space functional. Sage’s belongings are slowly starting to take over the house, and since we’re always in the living room, we thought it would be great to have big bins to keep all of her stuff in when we’re not using it! I hate seeing clutter around the home, so I love how we can throw her toys in the bins and keep the house organized. I know I didn’t want them to be typical bookshelves when styling the shelves, so we added pots, paintings, and little decor items to make each cubby hole feel unique. I love how clean it looks, but it’s also practical and provides a lot of function!

Spring is such a fun time to refresh your home or work on some projects you’ve meant to complete so you can fully enjoy your home in the summer. We always host so many events, so it was top of my list to complete this room before summer started! We still have the entire basement we need to finish, so let me know if you’re interested in following along on the progress of that – whenever that may be!

If you’re now inspired to freshen up your home, I rounded up a few of my favorite decor items!
