10 Beauty Must Haves For Fall

‘Tis the season for a bold lip, cozy sweater, and all things pumpkin. But for me, fall weather also brings dry skin. I’m sharing my ten fall beauty must-haves to have me prepped and ready for the season change below. Let me know your fall favorites in the comments, too!

Bold Fall Lip Shade

I love this warm fall shade and its price point!

Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

This mask is a 3-in-1 that resurfaces skin with a yummy pumpkin scent.

RoseHip Oil

When my skin is feeling extra dry, this oil immediately gives me the hydrating boost I need.

Clarifying Mask

This is another great mask with a fall scent that provides an amazing glow time and time again.

24/7 Moisturizer

You know how much I love Tula, and this moisturizer is great both under makeup or before bed.

Under-Eye Tightener

This went viral on TikTok for a very good reason. If you are ever fighting under-eye bags, this instantly firms and tightens your skin.

Setting Powder

For an airbrushed look that doesn’t feel heavy, I can’t recommend this powder enough!

Hair Trio

This shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner trio smells amazing and has saved my hair after all of the styling and product during Dancing with the Stars.

Cleansing Balm

This balm works great as a pre-cleanser to help get rid of both stage and everyday makeup.

Eye Brightening Cream

This cream instantly makes me feel refreshed and brightens my eyes!

What’s In My Fall Sephora Cart

Does anyone else stock up on their favorite beauty products and try new products as the seasons change?! I tend to do four big Sephora hauls per year. I love seeing what’s new each season, especially since my skincare and makeup change depending on the weather. For the upcoming season, I added a lot of hydrating products to my cart, as well as mauvy-toned lip glosses and eye palettes. I’m really digging the faux freckle trend, so I purchased a few felt tip eyeliner to help achieve this look. I also bought some of Addison Rae’s Item Beauty products because why not! I’m a sucker for new brands at Sephora. I mean, they are in Sephora for a reason, so they must be good, right? Let me know what you added to your fall beauty carts in the comments below!

My Updated Nighttime Skincare Routine

NIghttime Skincare Routine

As the warmer months start to approach (it was 75 in Utah the other day!!), I’m switching out my winter skincare products and adding in perfect products for the warmer, sunkissed days ahead. It’s so important to keep your routine ever-changing – especially as the seasons change! A rule of thumb is to change your products out 4 times a year for the different seasons. This doesn’t mean you need to swap out all of your skincare, just a few items that make sense for that time of year! For example, I use a lot of heavy creams at night during the winter to lock in moisture, but as we approach summer, I don’t use them anymore and stick with a basic moisturizer because our skin tends to hold more water in the warmer months. I try to go heavier with rich creams and oils in the winter and lighter with dewy, hydrating moisturizers and serums as we head into spring and summer. I outlined my routine, so it’s easy for you to follow!

  1. Oil Cleanse with this Seabuckthorn Oil: If there’s one thing you need to buy, it’s this! It’s called Best Skin Ever for a reason. This has completely changed my skin!! If you have oily skin, don’t be afraid to use this product. It’s for everyone and will work to cleanse, exfoliate, and tone. I love double cleansing in the spring/summer because of all the buildup from sunscreens and other products that get into your pores. Follow this tutorial!
  2. Cleanse with Tula’s Cult Classic Cleanser: This one is a constant in my skincare routine. It’s perfect for any season and leaves your skin clean, balanced, and hydrated.
  3. Exfoliate with Summer Fridays: I love this gentle exfoliator! It works to brighten, even skin tone and minimizes pores.
  4. Apply retinol: Now that I’m done breastfeeding, I’ve incorporated gentle retinol into my routine again! Retinol is such an amazing product and works to reduce wrinkles, redness and minimize pores.
  5. Hydrate with this overnight moisturizer/mask: This product is perfect for spring and summer! It’s not super heavy and will leave you with hydrated and glowy skin when you wake up.

4 Spring Hair Trends I’m Trying Out

Spring Hair Trends

Anyone else feel like Gen-Z is starting to take over and invent/bring back all these trends we grew up doing when we were younger?! I feel like I’m in on all the “cool” trends because of my little sister, Rylee. She’s always telling me what’s hot and what’s not. It’s so funny when she tries to tell me about a certain style or hair trend, even though I’ve already done that before back in high school!

This spring, I’m dipping my toes back into some of these trends to spice up my hair game. Let me know which trends you are trying out!

  1. Curtain Bangs: TikTok has ALMOST convinced me to get curtain bangs. I see them everywhere, and I think I might try this out. Curtain bangs are a little less scary than cutting real bangs because they can easily be pulled back behind the ears. I love how they take any hairstyle up a notch – especially a ponytail or messy bun. Let me know if you think I should cut curtain bangs at my next hair appointment.
  2. Center Parts: Center parts are back! I’ve actually been rocking a center part for most of my life, but now you can spice up a center part look with two small braids that frame your face or pull back the two front pieces with cute butterfly hairclips. If you’re looking for a change, but don’t want to do anything permanent, try out a middle part! It instantly changes the look of any haircut.
  3. The 90’s Flip: Love this sleek look! The flip at the end of the hair gives me Betty from Mad Men vibes. All you need to achieve this look is some hairspray and flat iron to curl up the ends.
  4. Pig Tails: I’m not sure if this is classified as a trend yet, but I just wore my hair in pigtails the other day, and it won’t be the last time. It gives my Baby Spice vibes, and I love how young it makes me feel. If you don’t want to commit to pigtails fully, you can do a half-up-half-down pigtails. Feel free to get funky with hair ties, gems, or even add in a braid.

My New Beauty Product

beauty product announcement

As you may have heard, I’m working on developing a skincare product with Volition Beauty!! What started as a little idea when Sage was still in my belly is finally coming to life.

As a professional dancer, I’ve used my fair share of tanning products, but when I became pregnant, I started to notice all of the harmful ingredients in the lotions I was using. My body care routine started to grow as well. I was applying my tanning product, then my oil to prevent stretch marks, and then my body lotion to stay hydrated. I would have to wait several minutes between each step and make sure the tan wouldn’t streak all at the same time. I started to think how amazing it would be to create a moisturizer that doubled as a self-tanner without the hassle. I wanted to give myself a buildable glow that didn’t streak or stain, but I also wanted it to moisturize, tone, and protect my skin. As my body changed throughout pregnancy, I dreamed up this incredible product to help everyone achieve smooth, firm, and glowy skin while protecting you from harmful free radicals. It’s packed with incredible and effective ingredients like broccoli and sage oil that work to protect your skin from free radicals and minimize appearances of blemishes and imperfections, vegan collagen to plump and increase the appearance of firms, and so much more.

This product isn’t made to replace your 24-hour self-tanner; rather, it’s a daily moisturizer that also gives you a glow. Unlike other gradual tanners or body lotions on the market, this product DOES IT ALL. From giving you a gradual glow to deeply hydrating and protecting your skin, its robust and clean formula takes your multi-step routine and bottles it up into one incredible product.

Benefits

– Provides a gradual, healthy-looking tan

– Increases the appearance of firmness

– Helps protect against free radicals

– Smooths and hydrates for long-term moisture retention

– Helps minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles

– Softens the look of stretch marks

– Quick-dry formula

Skin Concerns

– Dull, pale skin

– Dry skin

– Fine lines and wrinkles

– Uneven skin tone

I’ve been a longtime customer of Volition Beauty and knew they could help me bring this product to life with their innovator lab, so I submitted my idea, and now I need your help in making this product come to life. Volition Beauty is all about asking their community what products should be made next. Instead of telling their customers what is coming up, you can submit an idea to their lab, and if it makes the cut, it moves to the waitlist stage to gauge the beauty community’s interest. If your idea meets the waitlist threshold, it’s on to the pre-order phase and is in development! Everything they make is certified clean and free of parabens and sulfates, plus it’s cruelty-free.

This is where you come in! I need you to help get my idea to the pre-order phase to make this incredible product become a reality! If this sounds like something, you would love to use, join the waitlist today at volitionbeauty.com/lindsay – just enter your email and create a password.

My Busy Mom Makeup Look

I’ve pretty much mastered the busy mom makeup while your baby naps look, and I’m here to share my routine and favorite products with all of you! Even if you aren’t a mom and don’t have much time for your makeup, this routine is perfect for you. It’s just enough makeup to make you look alive, but it leaves out the contour and baking because who really has time for that? Makeup tutorials can be overwhelming, but I always find it helpful when I watch a relatable tutorial that’s easy to do. I linked all the products below in order of how I apply them! Let me know what products you’re loving lately. I’m always on the hunt to try new products. Also, I filmed the entire routine on our Youtube channel, so make sure you watch and subscribe!

Foundation: After I wash my face and apply my skincare and favorite primer, I use Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation in shades 6.5 and 4. I like to mix the two on a palette because I’m in-between shades! I blend in both my foundation and concealer with IT Cosmetics Heavenly Foundation Complexion Perfection brush. It’s my absolute favorite brush because it’s a 2-in-1 and delivers an airbrush effect.

Concealer: I’m obsessed with Too Faced’s Born This Way Concealer in the shade Vanilla. I apply it between my eyebrows, under my eyes, on my upper lip and chin. I blend it with the other side of the  IT Cosmetics brush in upwards motions under my eyes for a nice little lift effect and then in circular motions everywhere else, so it blends in nicely.

Bronzer: I use the Physician’s Formula bronzer and apply it as a contour without the stress or steps of a cream contour. It’s really lightweight and foolproof! I apply it with an angled brush on my cheekbone, forehead, nose, and neck.

Blush: MAC’s Warm Soul Blush has been in my routine for years! It’s *lightweight* and adds just enough warmth into my face for dimension. I don’t use a separate blush brush because time is of the essence, but I found this one (it’s on SALE!) that’s specific for blush application.

Highlighter: The Hyper Real Glow Palette from MAC is AMAZING! I use it for my highlighter and eyeshadow. I apply it across my cheekbones, nose, and on my eyelids. It’s the perfect amount of glow! I love how it just blends right in and doesn’t create a harsh line.

Eyeshadow: Lately, I’ve been mixing Physician’s Formula Bronzer with the highlighter in the Hyper Real Glow Palette for my eyeshadow. It makes the perfect natural eyeshadow color, and I love how I’m using products already in my routine. If you’re looking to downsize your makeup products or hate carrying around an eyeshadow palette, try this method out! Your bronzer creates the perfect base for your eyelid, and a little bit of highlighter in the inner corner of your eye and brow bone will make your eyes pop!

Eyebrows: I’m all about the natural eyebrow! I have naturally thick and bushy brows, so I brush them up with this brush and apply a clear gel to hold them in place. Super easy and only takes a second to do!

Mascara: I use the Babe Lash Enriching Mascara, and it’s incredible. It conditions, defines and lengthens your lashes. It doesn’t clump at all and really gives you that WOW factor!

Lip Liner & Gloss: My favorite Lip Liner is by NYX Cosmetics in the shade Nude Suede Shoes. It just glides right on and helps define your lips. It stays on all day and is super hydrating! I top it off with Laniege’s Glow Lip balm in shade berry for a glossy look!

4 Haircare Tips That Have Changed My Hair Post Pregnancy

Everyone always tells you to prepare for major postpartum hair loss. Not going to lie, I was TERRIFIED about losing my hair, especially after how full it got when I was pregnant with Sage. I knew it was inevitable, no matter what I did to prepare for it, but that didn’t stop me from trying to prevent as much hair loss as possible. I know a lot of the reasons why women experience so much hair loss after they have their baby is out of our control due to the changing of hormones and lack of sleep, but what was in my control was making sure I kept up with my daily postnatal vitamin, feeding my body with proper nutrients, and using products that helped promote hair growth. I started to prepare for the inevitable postpartum hair loss while I was pregnant with Sage by incorporating a hair growth shampoo into my routine 2- 3 times a week, plus I took my prenatal vitamin daily. I also only washed my hair a few times a week and tried not to use any hot tools on it. This definitely helped keep my hair healthy during pregnancy and prepared it for the major change my body would go through once I had Sage. Everyone’s postpartum journey is different, and almost 5 months in, I haven’t lost as much hair as I thought! I wanted to share 4 tips that have helped keep my hair healthy and strong throughout my postpartum journey, so whether you’re pregnant or just had your baby and are going through the same journey, keep reading for the products I use and what I do to prevent as much hair loss as possible.

My Favorite Hair Styling Tools Right Now

From the Dyson to the three-barrel curling iron, I’ve tried pretty much every hair styling tool there is. Since I don’t have all the time in the world, I love styling tools that can style my hair in 30 minutes or less. However, some of the tools that I’ve tried have really damaged my hair! So, I wanted to put together a list of the three tools I absolutely love. These three tools give my hair a different look, but they’re all super gentle, won’t damage your hair, and will give you that fresh salon look!

1. Dyson

I’m sure you’ve heard about the Dyson before, and I have to say it’s worth the hype. I have the air wrap, which comes with a few different add ons so you can style your hair in different ways. It also includes a blow-dry attachment so you can rough dry your hair before you style it. I love how it’s a 2-in-1 tool! It drys and styles your hair at the same time, plus it has intelligent heat controls that measure air temperature to prevent extreme heat damage while styling. If you want that perfect salon blowout, this is the tool for you! It’s definitely an investment, but you can achieve so many different looks with just this one tool, so it’s worth it. If you wait for a Sephora sale, you can usually find it at a discounted rate!!

2. BondiBoost Wave Wand

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I love my BondiBoost wave wand. I’ve been using all of BondiBoost’s products for almost a year now, and it’s such a great brand. The wave wand gives you those big bouncy waves, and it’s by far the easiest tool to use! Although it doesn’t dry your hair simultaneously, it only takes me about 10 minutes to style it! It’s perfect for any hair type, and the heated ceramic produces negatively charged ions to create soft waves without any frizz.

3. BrushX

I just discovered this tool a few months ago, and it’s quickly become one of my top hair styling tools. It’s a hairdryer and straightener all in one. It also works to repair your hair as you use it! I use it on damp hair and can style my hair in under 10 minutes. Every time I use it, everyone asks where I got my hair done. I love the volume it gives your hair, plus my hair feels silky smooth after.
