Fitness Fashion Haul

Athleisure is one of my most favorite things, even when I’m not working out. I’m always being asked about my favorite places to shop for workout clothes, and truthfully, there are so many! I usually buy a few staple pieces that I know will last a while, along with trying a bunch of recommended items (usually from my favorite, Amazon!) to see what will work best during a workout. I love sharing my findings with you guys and wanted to talk about some of my favorite sets in various price points that perfectly pair both fitness and fashion!

As you probably know, I am the biggest fan of the Lululemon Align collection, and this one will always be a closet staple. The Align tanksAlign shorts, and Align leggings are all tried and true because they are the most buttery soft, perfect material, and the most comfortable during a workout. They are worth every penny!

I also have an entire storefront dedicated to my current fitness faves from Amazon because there are so many great things. They have a great dupe for both the Align short and tank top at a really reasonable price point. I also love this twist crop top too!

My favorite workout set at the moment is from Beach Riot, and they are such a cute company if you’re looking for a fun print. This ultra-soft taupe ribbed tank and bottom set can be mixed and matched with solid colors, too, for maximum use!

A common theme in my wardrobe is definitely comfort, and another super comfortable legging is this high waist pair from Alo. I love the breathable jersey material, and it pairs perfectly with their Gratitude bra. How cute is this color, too!

I’ve been really loving all things ribbed these days, too, and picked up a couple of pairs of the Veronica leggings from the brand Year of Ours and have not been disappointed. I really like how thick and wide the elastic waistband is and feel super supported during a workout.

Last but definitely not least, don’t sleep on Abercrombie workout clothes, guys! I know I’ve talked about them before, but they are such a great price point and really cute and comfortable. I love the fit of their v-waist bike shorts and am obsessed with their workout dress.

I’ll keep sharing my fitness fashion hauls with you as I order and try on more! If there are brands you think I need to try, please send them my way!

My Go-To Workout Looks

Workout Sets

I’ve always loved athleisure, but especially after starting Move With Linds, I feel like I live in workout clothes. There are so many brands to choose from, it can feel a little overwhelming when you are looking for the perfect set. So I wanted to put together a roundup of brands that are both really great to work out in and really cute to hang around in- especially for summer!

Lululemon

If you know me, you know I am probably their #1 fan. I cannot get enough of the buttery soft Align collection and have yet to find a dupe that is a true match to the quality. I highly recommend the Align tank and Align short for summer workouts, they are definitely worth spending a little extra money on!

Beach Riot

If you’re looking for a fun pop of color or print, this is definitely the brand to find it. The Tessa top is a favorite of mine because it’s so comfortable throughout an entire workout, and it’s great to mix and match with different bottoms!

Year of Ours

I’m always on the lookout for a good ribbed workout set, and my favorite is from Year of Ours. The material is thick enough to keep everything feeling secure during a workout, and I love the wide elastic waistband of the Veronica legging.

IVL Collective

I’ve been loving IVL lately. They are a sustainable athleisure brand, and their trademarked Hydrascuplt fabric is actually infused with collagen! I recently picked up these pink watercolor leggings and the matching power bra.

Five Dancewear

This brand is the most innovative in the dancewear space and also so versatile for working out too. If you are looking for really well-made yet non-traditional dance attire that doubles as athleisure, look no further. These airbrush biker shorts are a must-have!

Free People Movement

Free People is a brand I’ve loved forever, but their movement line is one I keep going back to. I’m a big fan of their Good Karma Onesie– it’s so multifunctional and can serve so many purposes by adding or removing layers as needed (for dance, too!). They also donate a portion of their activewear proceeds to Girls Inc., making me even happier about buying workout clothes.

Good American

I’d only known Good American for their great denim, but I have bought a few pieces from their workout line and really like fit and quality. The active essential ribbed bra is a favorite of mine because it has a thicker band under the bust that provides great support and is really comfortable. This fabric also comes in leggings!

I always love sharing what I’m finding with you guys and trying new brands, too. Let me know if there are others you think I need to add to the list for summer workouts!

My Go-To Pre-Workout Breakfast

I always get asked what I eat in the morning before my workouts and if I eat anything at all. I know everyone has their own take on eating before you work out, but I’m all about listening to my body, and if I’m hungry and know I have a big workout to get through, I like to feed it with nutritious foods. I find that I truly perform better when I have a little something in my stomach. Lately, I’ve been setting my alarm clock extra early to workout and film new videos for Move With Linds. When I get up early and know I’m working out within an hour, I usually make myself peanut butter on whole-grain toast, berries and yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, or snack on a granola bar. Carbs are energy, so if you eat them about an hour before your workout, your body will digest them enough so you don’t feel sick when you’re jumping up and down, but you won’t have used all the energy from the carbs, and you’ll use it as you power through your workout! Food = fuel, so I like to feed my body carbs and protein when I eat before my workout. Both are essential in your pre-workout breakfast because your body uses the energy from the carbs, and the protein helps repair any micro-tears in our muscle fiber, especially as we do strength workouts!

On top of my breakfast, I’ll sometimes have a pre-workout drink. I’ve been loving the Alani NU Hawaiian Shaved Ice Pre-Workout! I’ve never been the biggest pre-workout fan, but this one is all-natural and doesn’t make me jittery. It’s SO good and also helps prevent that post-workout crash. Another important part of my pre-workout meal is water! Hydration before exercise is essential. Not only does it prevent cramps during a workout, but it can cause you to have low energy. Make sure you have at least a cup of water in the morning before you start to work out to prevent injury. This collagen water from Vital Proteins is so yummy if you’re looking for something with good flavor and added benefits.

The Best Workout Outfits

Ever since starting Move With Linds, I’ve been on the hunt for the best activewear brands. I pretty much only wear workout clothing now since I work out everyday and film new workout videos for the program! I’m pretty picky about what I like to wear when I workout. I don’t have time to fix my sports bra or keep pulling up my pants, especially when I’m filming a new workout, so when I find a brand that works, I usually order a few sets! Speaking of sets, I’m all about them. There’s nothing like a matching workout outfit. I always feel so put together and stylish! One of my favorite workout brands to order from is Beyond Yoga. If you haven’t tried their clothing before, you are missing out. Everything they make is buttery soft, and no matter how many times you wash it, it never hurts the quality. They have so many cute colors and sets to choose from. If you’re new to the brand, start with the Caught In The Midi High Waisted Legging and the Cropped Tank. You’ll pretty much never want to wear anything else once you try their stuff!

Another brand I’ve ordered a lot from lately is Free People. Their ribbed leggings hold you in at all the right places and never slip down when you workout. If you’ve tried my workout program, you know how much we move around, so I love not ever having to pull my leggings up every time I jump squat. I love how Free People’s activewear is different than anything out there. They have so many fun styles with cutouts and prints. One of my favorite sets I’ve been wearing on repeat is the Hot Shot Legging paired with the Hot Shot Crop. It comes in so many different colors, and it’s perfect for all types of movement or just lounging.

For all my past and present dancers, you’ll also love the brand Five Dancewear. They have a lot of dance-specific clothing, but they also have so many cute workout sets. I wore a few of them during my pregnancy and in my workout videos!

And we can’t forget about shoes!! My favorite sneaker brand ever is APL. They created the most comfortable, functional, and stylish sneaker ever. I wear this style in my workouts!

My Favorite Workout Warmup Everyone Needs To Try

Before I film or do any Move With Linds workout, I ALWAYS do a warm-up. People often skip this step in their workout and jump right into their movements, but it’s extremely important to warm your muscles to prevent injury. I know most of us don’t have a lot of time, but warming up can actually help you perform better in your workout. When you warm-up, your blood temperature rises, increasing blood flow to your muscles. This looses up your joints and tendons and prepares them for intense movement.

  1. Pre-workout: My go-to warmup actually starts in the kitchen. Before I do my workout, I use Vital Protein’s Pre-workout powder. I normally stay away from pre-workouts because they make me jittery, but this one doesn’t affect me. It contains collagen, which supports your muscles, and three types of nitric oxide producers that increase blood flow.
  2. Muscle Gun & Foam Roll: After my pre-workout, I love to foam roll for a few minutes. I’m typically sore from my workout the day before, so this can relieve muscle tightness, reduce inflammation and increase your joint range of motion. If I don’t foam roll, I use my Theragun. This also works to activate your muscles and increase your range of motion. It feels sooooo good, especially after a tough workout.
  3. Slow Movement: My last step in my warmup routine is a quick series. I like to get my heart rate up, so I run through these 4 movements 3 times for 30 seconds each. It’s quick, but it will get your heart rate pumping and blood flowing. After this, you’ll be ready to crush your workout!
    1. Jumping Jacks
    2. Air Squats
    3. Donkey Kicks (each side)
    4. Plank to downward dog

My Favorite Move With Linds Workouts When I Only Have 15 Min To Spare

If you’ve been keeping up with Move With Linds workouts lately, you know one of my favorite parts of my new workout program is the selection of short workouts available! As a new mama, I know one of the most challenging things to find time for is movement. That’s why I designed a program that works for everyone, including new moms who are getting back on track with their fitness journey. I’m a big believer in short but sweet workouts that target different parts of the body using your own bodyweight!

So to inspire all of you (and myself!) to get moving this week, I decided to round up some of my favorite super short workouts that I choose for those moments that I need to squeeze something into my day! Whether it’s multitasking while taking a call WFH or finding 10 minutes to spare when baby Sage is napping, keep scrolling for my favorite Move With Linds workouts when I only have 15 minutes to spare!

#1 10 Min Standing Abs

I love a good standing series when I’m in the middle of making Sage’s bottle or even taking a call! It’s super easy, find a steady surface to hold for balance if needed, and get moving!

#2 10 Min Booty Burn

Booty burn workouts are my absolute fave for getting my heart rate up a bit! This might only be 10 minutes, but I promise you’ll really start to feel the burn with just your own bodyweight.

#3 5 Min Arm Sculpt

Sometimes all you have to spare are 5 minutes and if you’re ready for your arms to feel like jello, this 5 minute sculpt session is for you! You can definitely level up this workout with some hand weights, but definitely not necessary!
