Sage’s Favorite Things

Sage's Favorite Things

It is so crazy how much Sage is changing every day. I absolutely love watching her grow, learn and figure out the world. I share and take so many photos because I want to soak in and remember every single stage as much as I can because it feels like in the blink of an eye, she has already grown up so much.

At five months old (I cannot believe it!), here is a round-up of some of the things she is loving:

Tommee Tippee Pacifiers

Sage has loved these forever, and they are still her favorite. I know every baby is different, but we need at least a handful of these wherever we go!

Lovevery Playgym

I love this play gym because there are new things to discover at every stage of a baby’s development. There is a great little guide book that comes with it to share new ways to play and interact at every age. They recently introduced this sensory strand add-on that Sage is absolutely obsessed with right now.

Fuzzy Blanket

If you’ve seen any of my stories lately, Sage still loves her fuzzy blanket. It goes everywhere with us and is perfect for cozy snuggles.

Caterpillar Pillow

We are working on sitting, and this little adjustable pillow is just too cute! You can reconfigure it to help your kiddo in tummy time, sitting, and side-lying,  so it’s super versatile and fun to use.

Jellycat Soft Books

It’s so fun to see Sage explore different textures. These books are just the cutest and come in so many different themes. After just heading back from the beach, we are currently reading the sea tails book with the matching (and softest!) Larry the Lobster stuffed animal and learning all about the creatures of the sea.

Little Spoon Purees

I still cannot believe Sage is old enough to be eating purees, and we love love love Little Spoon. They are the perfect alternative for parents that want organic, delicious, wholesome ingredients but may not necessarily have the time to make their own baby food. They are delivered fresh and do an amazing job of introducing so many unique flavor profiles to babies while learning to eat. We just sprinkle her SpoonfulONE packet into the puree, and she has her meals all ready to go.

Baby Bjorn Carrier

Sage is in the stage where she loves being right in the action, so this carrier lets me get things done and still keeps her feeling like the center of attention. She has so much fun bouncing around the house with me.

Play Piano

Sage has SO much fun playing with this cute little foot piano. It comes with a play gym, or you can buy it on its own, and she loves kicking and laughing while making music. This is also something that will grow with her and even teaches colors and sounds in different languages.

The Best Vitamin For Every Stage of Life

This post is sponsored by Ritual. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Let’s be honest, the supplement and vitamin industry can be terrifying and overwhelming. With so many brands and information, it can be hard to decide what actually works and what is best for you. I didn’t take a multivitamin for most of my life, but I decided maybe it was time to add one into my routine as I got older. One of the reasons I never took one was because of how confusing the entire industry is. With everyone telling you something different, I didn’t know what to believe. Living in a digital world where everyone is sharing what works for them, I started to see more and more people share the brand, Ritual. The more I looked into Ritual, the more I fell in love with their products and their mission and values as a company.  Ritual was founded on the belief that “health begins with better ingredients.” The founder of Ritual was looking for a prenatal vitamin but couldn’t find one she trusted, so she set out to make her own. I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to certain things, which is why it takes me a long time to decide if I want to put something into my body, but when I discovered Ritual, I knew it was the multivitamin for me because they too are skeptics who did everything they could to reimagine the multivitamin with a science-backed formula, visible traceability, and quality ingredients.

I loved how easy it was to understand what Ritual was about and what was in their products. Its clean, vegan-friendly, non-GMO formula only consists of key nutrients and leaves out the sugars, synthetic fillers, artificial colorants, and all other shady additives! It’s been over a year now of taking their vitamins, and I have gone from the daily multi to the prenatal to currently the postnatal. They have multivitamins for different life stages, so it’s been amazing to use the same brand but just switch out to the multivitamin that fits my current needs. Ritual multivitamins are formulated to help fill nutrient gaps in the diet because no matter how healthy you eat, we may still not be getting enough key nutrients from our food alone, which is why it can be important to take a multivitamin. Ritual is formulated with key nutrients like Vitamin D3 and Omega DHA and other nutrients specific to the type you are taking. I started with the daily, which is formulated for women 18-49 to help fill nutrient gaps in their diets. This daily multivitamin helps support foundational health with 9 key nutrients.*

When Sam and I started talking about having a baby, I switched over to the prenatal multivitamin. Whether you’re just starting to think about having a baby, trying, or when you’re pregnant, Ritual’s prenatal is formulated to help support those nutrient needs. It contains 12 traceable nutrients like Folate, Choline, and Omega-3 DHA to support neural tube development and fetal brain development, plus Vitamin B12, Iron, Biotin, Omega-3, and more. The 12 nutrients are fully traceable – you can see where they come from on their site! The capsule has a delayed-release design, plus every bottle has a lemon tab.*

I took the prenatal multivitamin throughout my pregnancy and then switched over to the postnatal shortly after I had Sage. It was a seamless transition, I just updated my account, and it delivered the postnatal in my next shipment. Just like the daily and prenatal multivitamins, the postnatal is formulated with 15 traceable nutrients for the new nutrient demands a mother has for 6 months postpartum and throughout lactation. I’m 5 months postpartum and will be switching over to the daily next month!

Check out Ritual HERE and sign up today!

No matter what stage of life I’m in, I love how I can trust Ritual to help support my nutrient needs. I know I’m only a little over a year into my journey with Ritual, but this is one of the most incredible brands I have come across, and I know I will be taking their multivitamins for years to come. If you’re looking to start taking a multivitamin or make the switch from your current one, I couldn’t recommend Ritual enough.

My New Beauty Product

beauty product announcement

As you may have heard, I’m working on developing a skincare product with Volition Beauty!! What started as a little idea when Sage was still in my belly is finally coming to life.

As a professional dancer, I’ve used my fair share of tanning products, but when I became pregnant, I started to notice all of the harmful ingredients in the lotions I was using. My body care routine started to grow as well. I was applying my tanning product, then my oil to prevent stretch marks, and then my body lotion to stay hydrated. I would have to wait several minutes between each step and make sure the tan wouldn’t streak all at the same time. I started to think how amazing it would be to create a moisturizer that doubled as a self-tanner without the hassle. I wanted to give myself a buildable glow that didn’t streak or stain, but I also wanted it to moisturize, tone, and protect my skin. As my body changed throughout pregnancy, I dreamed up this incredible product to help everyone achieve smooth, firm, and glowy skin while protecting you from harmful free radicals. It’s packed with incredible and effective ingredients like broccoli and sage oil that work to protect your skin from free radicals and minimize appearances of blemishes and imperfections, vegan collagen to plump and increase the appearance of firms, and so much more.

This product isn’t made to replace your 24-hour self-tanner; rather, it’s a daily moisturizer that also gives you a glow. Unlike other gradual tanners or body lotions on the market, this product DOES IT ALL. From giving you a gradual glow to deeply hydrating and protecting your skin, its robust and clean formula takes your multi-step routine and bottles it up into one incredible product.

Benefits

– Provides a gradual, healthy-looking tan

– Increases the appearance of firmness

– Helps protect against free radicals

– Smooths and hydrates for long-term moisture retention

– Helps minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles

– Softens the look of stretch marks

– Quick-dry formula

Skin Concerns

– Dull, pale skin

– Dry skin

– Fine lines and wrinkles

– Uneven skin tone

I’ve been a longtime customer of Volition Beauty and knew they could help me bring this product to life with their innovator lab, so I submitted my idea, and now I need your help in making this product come to life. Volition Beauty is all about asking their community what products should be made next. Instead of telling their customers what is coming up, you can submit an idea to their lab, and if it makes the cut, it moves to the waitlist stage to gauge the beauty community’s interest. If your idea meets the waitlist threshold, it’s on to the pre-order phase and is in development! Everything they make is certified clean and free of parabens and sulfates, plus it’s cruelty-free.

This is where you come in! I need you to help get my idea to the pre-order phase to make this incredible product become a reality! If this sounds like something, you would love to use, join the waitlist today at volitionbeauty.com/lindsay – just enter your email and create a password.

Amazon Basics You Need In Your Closet

amazon basics

It’s starting to warm up here in Utah (which I am SO excited about!), and with the change in weather, I’m always inspired to do a little spring closet cleanout. I usually take inventory of what I have in my wardrobe from seasons past and see what other basics I can add to my collection. Amazon makes it way too easy to find cute, reasonably priced pieces that somehow keep magically showing up at your doorstep two days later.

I’ve been looking forward to stocking up on basics that are equal parts, comfortable and stylish, and these Amazon dresses are the perfect day to evening transition pieces. Spend a day running errands in one of these cute ribbed or maxi dresses, throw on a cardigan, and you’re ready for a night out! I’m also so excited to grab this jumpsuit– perfect for a day around the house with Sage or a family outing to the park.

You guys know I am all about a good workout set, and I’ve found such great basic sets on Amazon in the most fun spring colors. The ribbed material is super soft and comfortable, and I love how breathable and durable the fabric is throughout a workout.

Amazon also has some really perfect date night basics for spring and summer, like this flowy dress with a sweetheart neckline and this cute shift dress that comes in color to match any occasion. You also cannot get more basic than a good pair of Levis and a plain white tee- a definite staple for me because I can mix and match all types of accessories to create multiple looks. If I want to dress up the jeans a bit, I’ll swap out the basic tee for a bodysuit or a knitted tank top.

Arguably the most important basics of all (especially this year) are comfys! This loungewear set is the coziest thing ever and comes in so many different styles and colors. Throw in a pair of fuzzy slippers, and you are ready for the ultimate movie night in!

If you know me, you know my Amazon cart is always full, and adding fun things to refresh my wardrobe basics is no exception. I hope you love these as much as I do! Happy shopping!

My Go To Hydrating Hair Products

This post is sponsored by Pantene. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve been really into my hair care game lately. I feel like we all spend so much time and money on our skin care, but don’t really give much thought to our hair. Throughout my pregnancy, I researched the best products you should be using on your hair, especially as you prepare for postpartum, and I learned that we should be changing our hair products up with the seasons just like we do with our skin care. I always just used the same shampoo and conditioner, and that was pretty much it, but over the past year, I’ve mastered my top-shelf hair care products. Once you start giving your hair the products it’s been craving, you won’t want to turn back.

This winter, my hair was extraaaaa dry! I’m not sure if it was a combination of postpartum and the dry Utah air, but no matter what I did, my ends felt like straw. I started to use the Pantene Nutrient Blends Hydrating Glow with Baobab Essence Collection, which is curated by Pantene’s team of scientists who are constantly working on sourcing the best ingredient blends that are nutrient-rich and effective. The Hydrating Glow Collection, which consists of shampoo, conditioner, and serum, is the line I’ve been using to help hydrate my hair! It’s free of sulfates, parabens, dyes, and mineral oil and only contains incredible nutrient-rich ingredients that work to quench your thirsty hair.

The Hydrating Glow Collection is unique because it contains Baobab essence. Baobab comes from Tanzania, where the Baobab tree is known as the “Tree of Life” because it can grow for over a thousand years. Tanzanian women have used the cold-pressed extracts from this tree in their beauty routines to keep their hair and skin hydrated through long periods of drought. Each product in the collection contains Baobab essence to help keep your hair hydrated through the driest of conditions and changing weather patterns.

I love the Hydrating Glow Shampoo because it gently cleanses your hair without removing its natural oils and glow. It’s infused with a nourishing formula of pro-vitamin B5, antioxidants, and Baobab essence that deliver instant and long-lasting hydration. I use the shampoo daily, and only switch out when I’m using my hair growth shampoo system or toning products.

The Hydrating Glow Conditioner infuses the hair with weightless hydration and leaves your hair silky smooth. There’s nothing better than a conditioner that quenches your thirsty strands but doesn’t weigh your hair down or leave it feeling greasy! If you have dry or damaged hair, this is a must-have for you!!

The last product in the collection, which might be my favorite, is the Hydrating Glow Serum. The formula melts right into your hands as you work it through your hair. It instantly locks in the moisture and works to repair split ends while giving your hair a healthy glow. Yes, a glow serum isn’t just for your skin – your hair deserves to glow, too. This product has instantly changed my hair – especially my ends. I tend to get a lot of breakage, especially in the winter months or when I’m over-styling my hair, which is a miracle product in my hair care routine. I use it weekly (pretty much every other day) after the shower and work it into my wet hair. You can also work it into dry hair after you style it for a little extra glow. If you’re looking for one more product to add to your routine, this is the one!

As we transition to the warmer months, we can’t forget that the sun damages not only your skin but also your hair! I’ll be using the Hydrating Glow Collection from Pantene’s Nutrient Blends Collection to help combat what the ever-changing weather does to my hair! I love treating my hair to some TLC, and the Hydrating Glow Collection is just what my hair needs to remain hydrated, clean and extra glowy. And remember, DRINK WATER. Hydrating your body from the inside out on top of giving your hair thirst-quenching ingredients will help keep your hair healthy, hydrated and luscious all year long.

You can shop the Pantene Nutrient Blends Hydrating Glow Collection at Target!

What I’m Packing For Florida

We are heading to the sunshine state for a much-needed family vacation! I’m so excited and grateful to be able to get away with my entire family for a few days (we are getting tested before we travel, and once we get home – don’t worry)! It’s been cold and gray in Utah, so I can’t wait to break out some summer clothes and, of course, dress Sagey for summer. I did a little bit of shopping for our trip and wanted to share all of the fun summer outfits, accessories, and beauty products we packed for Sage and me. I packed pretty light for this trip and tried to plan out all of our outfits, so we didn’t over-pack. What always helps me when packing for a trip, especially now that I have a baby, is laying each outfit out with both of our accessories and taking a quick photo so I know exactly what I’m wearing when I get there. I also love to pack in cubes, it’s a LIFESAVER. It keeps everything organized and neat and makes it easier to fit more things in your suitcase. I packed a few Mommy & Me looks from my favorite store, Ivy City, as well as all of our go-to vacation beauty products, including Supergoop Baby Sunscreen, after-sun face masks, and more.

I shared more about some of our must-have items when traveling with a baby in this blog post, so if you’re looking for the best travel stroller, diaper bag, or baby carrier, read more here!

Easy Meal Prep Ideas

I’m all about meal prepping these days! It has helped Sam and me out so much, especially during the day when I’m running around trying to get errands done, working on projects, and being a mom to Sage! Meal prepping for the week can be overwhelming, and I’m definitely not an expert in this, but I’ve found a few recipes that have worked for us and made our lives easier, so I wanted to share them with all of you. I’m not one to meal prep every single item we consume all week, I prefer to prep breakfast and lunch items so Sam can grab them on his way to work and so I can have something quick and not worry about having to juggle Sage while I make a meal. You all know the burrito recipe is one of our weekly staples, but we also make an oatmeal bake and a soup. I prep these three recipes every Sunday, and they never get boring because I change up ingredients depending on what we’re feeling. All three are super easy to make and fool-proof! I hope you like them!

Burrito Recipe

Our number 1 meal prep recipe! It’s so delicious and works for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

  • 24 Eggs
  • 2 Rolls Ground Maple Sausage
  • 2-3 Cups Diced Bell Peppers
  • 1 Full Bag of Hashbrowns
  • 24 Uncooked Flour Tortillas

Steps:

  1. Over high heat, cook the sausage and ground it up
  2. In a separate pan, make the scrambled eggs
  3. Mix the sausage with the eggs and keep over low heat
  4. Heat the hashbrowns in the pan you used to cook the sausage
  5. Cook the tortillas on a skillet, in the oven, or over the stove. You just want to heat them!
  6. Mix the hashbrowns in with the sausage and eggs
  7. Cook the diced bell peppers in the same pan you used to heat the hashbrowns
  8. Mix the bell peppers in with the egg, sausage, and hashbrown mixture
  9. Make the burritos: Take about a 1/2 cup to 1 cup of the burrito mixture and wrap it in the burrito! Wrap tinfoil around it and then store them in the freezer! When you’re ready to eat, you can heat them in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes. Enjoy!!

Overnight Oat Bake Recipe

One of my go-to breakfasts every morning before I workout! It’s so easy to make and lasts all week, plus it’s filled with so many nutritious ingredients that will keep you full.  Sam grabs a to-go bowl of this to eat on his way to work. It’s a nice switch up from the burritos!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 Cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
  • 3 mashed bananas
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • optional: apples, dried cherries, and coconut (any toppings work!)

Steps:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the coconut oil, mashed bananas, eggs, maple syrup, cinnamon, baking powder, and milk.
  2. Stir in the oats, blueberries, and other mixins! In a separate pan, make the scrambled eggs.
  3. Pour the oat mixture into a baking sheet, place your toppings and cover with plastic wrap.
  4. Leave in your fridge for a few hours or overnight
  5. Remove from fridge and place in oven at 350°F. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle all remaining toppings, and enjoy! You can store it in your fridge all week and just reheat it when you want to eat it.

Soup Recipe

We love having a soup recipe readily accessible during the week, especially in the colder months. As we approach spring and summer, we change things up and use vegetables that are in season! You can make it in your crockpot or over the stove and eat it all week. One of my favorites has been using cauliflower, chickpeas, and sweet potatoes. It’s SO delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 2 heads of cauliflower
  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 1 carton of vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

Steps:

  1. In a stockpot, sauté the onions on high heat until they are white and jelly.
  2. Reduce to low temp and dump the chopped cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and can of chickpea into the stockpot. Sprinkle the salt and pour the vegetable broth until it just about covers the vegetables. Stir in the olive oil and cover.
  3. Let sit for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Take a hand blender (specific for pureeing soup), or you can pour the soup into a blender. Puree soup until nice and creamy! Add some salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!

My Go-To Pre-Workout Breakfast

I always get asked what I eat in the morning before my workouts and if I eat anything at all. I know everyone has their own take on eating before you work out, but I’m all about listening to my body, and if I’m hungry and know I have a big workout to get through, I like to feed it with nutritious foods. I find that I truly perform better when I have a little something in my stomach. Lately, I’ve been setting my alarm clock extra early to workout and film new videos for Move With Linds. When I get up early and know I’m working out within an hour, I usually make myself peanut butter on whole-grain toast, berries and yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, or snack on a granola bar. Carbs are energy, so if you eat them about an hour before your workout, your body will digest them enough so you don’t feel sick when you’re jumping up and down, but you won’t have used all the energy from the carbs, and you’ll use it as you power through your workout! Food = fuel, so I like to feed my body carbs and protein when I eat before my workout. Both are essential in your pre-workout breakfast because your body uses the energy from the carbs, and the protein helps repair any micro-tears in our muscle fiber, especially as we do strength workouts!

On top of my breakfast, I’ll sometimes have a pre-workout drink. I’ve been loving the Alani NU Hawaiian Shaved Ice Pre-Workout! I’ve never been the biggest pre-workout fan, but this one is all-natural and doesn’t make me jittery. It’s SO good and also helps prevent that post-workout crash. Another important part of my pre-workout meal is water! Hydration before exercise is essential. Not only does it prevent cramps during a workout, but it can cause you to have low energy. Make sure you have at least a cup of water in the morning before you start to work out to prevent injury. This collagen water from Vital Proteins is so yummy if you’re looking for something with good flavor and added benefits.

My Busy Mom Makeup Look

I’ve pretty much mastered the busy mom makeup while your baby naps look, and I’m here to share my routine and favorite products with all of you! Even if you aren’t a mom and don’t have much time for your makeup, this routine is perfect for you. It’s just enough makeup to make you look alive, but it leaves out the contour and baking because who really has time for that? Makeup tutorials can be overwhelming, but I always find it helpful when I watch a relatable tutorial that’s easy to do. I linked all the products below in order of how I apply them! Let me know what products you’re loving lately. I’m always on the hunt to try new products. Also, I filmed the entire routine on our Youtube channel, so make sure you watch and subscribe!

Foundation: After I wash my face and apply my skincare and favorite primer, I use Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation in shades 6.5 and 4. I like to mix the two on a palette because I’m in-between shades! I blend in both my foundation and concealer with IT Cosmetics Heavenly Foundation Complexion Perfection brush. It’s my absolute favorite brush because it’s a 2-in-1 and delivers an airbrush effect.

Concealer: I’m obsessed with Too Faced’s Born This Way Concealer in the shade Vanilla. I apply it between my eyebrows, under my eyes, on my upper lip and chin. I blend it with the other side of the  IT Cosmetics brush in upwards motions under my eyes for a nice little lift effect and then in circular motions everywhere else, so it blends in nicely.

Bronzer: I use the Physician’s Formula bronzer and apply it as a contour without the stress or steps of a cream contour. It’s really lightweight and foolproof! I apply it with an angled brush on my cheekbone, forehead, nose, and neck.

Blush: MAC’s Warm Soul Blush has been in my routine for years! It’s *lightweight* and adds just enough warmth into my face for dimension. I don’t use a separate blush brush because time is of the essence, but I found this one (it’s on SALE!) that’s specific for blush application.

Highlighter: The Hyper Real Glow Palette from MAC is AMAZING! I use it for my highlighter and eyeshadow. I apply it across my cheekbones, nose, and on my eyelids. It’s the perfect amount of glow! I love how it just blends right in and doesn’t create a harsh line.

Eyeshadow: Lately, I’ve been mixing Physician’s Formula Bronzer with the highlighter in the Hyper Real Glow Palette for my eyeshadow. It makes the perfect natural eyeshadow color, and I love how I’m using products already in my routine. If you’re looking to downsize your makeup products or hate carrying around an eyeshadow palette, try this method out! Your bronzer creates the perfect base for your eyelid, and a little bit of highlighter in the inner corner of your eye and brow bone will make your eyes pop!

Eyebrows: I’m all about the natural eyebrow! I have naturally thick and bushy brows, so I brush them up with this brush and apply a clear gel to hold them in place. Super easy and only takes a second to do!

Mascara: I use the Babe Lash Enriching Mascara, and it’s incredible. It conditions, defines and lengthens your lashes. It doesn’t clump at all and really gives you that WOW factor!

Lip Liner & Gloss: My favorite Lip Liner is by NYX Cosmetics in the shade Nude Suede Shoes. It just glides right on and helps define your lips. It stays on all day and is super hydrating! I top it off with Laniege’s Glow Lip balm in shade berry for a glossy look!

4 Haircare Tips That Have Changed My Hair Post Pregnancy

Everyone always tells you to prepare for major postpartum hair loss. Not going to lie, I was TERRIFIED about losing my hair, especially after how full it got when I was pregnant with Sage. I knew it was inevitable, no matter what I did to prepare for it, but that didn’t stop me from trying to prevent as much hair loss as possible. I know a lot of the reasons why women experience so much hair loss after they have their baby is out of our control due to the changing of hormones and lack of sleep, but what was in my control was making sure I kept up with my daily postnatal vitamin, feeding my body with proper nutrients, and using products that helped promote hair growth. I started to prepare for the inevitable postpartum hair loss while I was pregnant with Sage by incorporating a hair growth shampoo into my routine 2- 3 times a week, plus I took my prenatal vitamin daily. I also only washed my hair a few times a week and tried not to use any hot tools on it. This definitely helped keep my hair healthy during pregnancy and prepared it for the major change my body would go through once I had Sage. Everyone’s postpartum journey is different, and almost 5 months in, I haven’t lost as much hair as I thought! I wanted to share 4 tips that have helped keep my hair healthy and strong throughout my postpartum journey, so whether you’re pregnant or just had your baby and are going through the same journey, keep reading for the products I use and what I do to prevent as much hair loss as possible.
