Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father's Day Post

Father’s Day is almost here, so I thought I would put together a blog post with gift ideas! I rounded up some of Sam’s favorite things he already owns and a few things I have my eyes on for him. It’s his first Father’s Day, so I’m spoiling him a little more than usual. From APL sneakers, a meat thermometer to a jogging stroller, you’ll find something special for the men in your life. I ALWAYS struggle with gifts for my dad and want to make sure I get him something meaningful but also useful – anyone else feel that way? I love giving gifts but never want to give someone something that’s going to get thrown out, so I rounded up the best gifts that are meaningful AND will be put to use.

Spring Essentials: 5 Staples You Need

Spring Essentials

I love it when the seasons change, and you can start to smell the warm weather in the air. Not only is it nice not to wake up to shivering temperatures and be able to go on hikes in beautiful weather, but it’s also a chance to put your winter wardrobe away for a while and step into your spring clothes. Last spring, we were all inside wearing a different sweat set every day, but this spring, I’m starting to see more and more fashion which makes me so excited. It means that our world is slowly getting back to normal, and with that, we can all enjoy being outdoors, seeing friends again, and wearing cute outfits!

It feels like 2 years since I thought about my spring clothes, so I’ve been doing some shopping, and I’ve been loving all the trends I see this year. I have so many basics I carry over from the previous season, but I always love to buy a few new staples each season to freshen up my wardrobe. This season, I’m adding 5 new essentials into my wardrobe based on the trends I see this year: white button-downs, high-waisted jeans, oversized boyfriend blazer, pop of color accessories, and luxury leather sandals.

White Button Down: There’s nothing like a crisp white button-down. It instantly elevates any outfit and makes you look so classic and chic. Pair it with white jeans for a monochromatic look or with some cute trousers, and you are ready for the day. Everyone should have at least one white button-down in their closet! They are so easy to layer, plus you can keep it open and add a cute tank underneath or even tie it up with a pair of shorts.

High Waisted Jeans: I don’t care what Gen-Z says, but I will never go back to low-rise. This may go against what all the trend reports say, but I love myself good high-waisted jeans, and I’m adding more to my wardrobe this season. I like to always have a few different color washes in my closet to choose from. You can style high-waisted jeans differently, so I would invest in a pair that doesn’t stretch out too much. I wear mine sometimes 4-5 times a week!!

Oversized Boyfriend Blazer: Anyone else stalk Hailey Bieber’s account to see what she’s been wearing lately? I saw her step out with an oversized blazer and jean shorts and immediately started looking for the perfect blazer. I know blazers have been in style for a while, but make sure you look for that boyfriend style because it adds a whole new level of edgy-chic vs. boardroom-chic.

Pop of Color Bags: I love when I see that neutral is still in, and the only color you need is from your accessories! We all have neutral tones in our closets, so if you’re looking to spend on a few new spring essentials, look for pops of color in your accessories.

Luxury Leather Sandals: A good quality leather sandal is a must-have in your closet for both spring and summer. I know it can still be chilly to wear sandals in spring, but I always throw on a pair of leather sandals with my outfit on the days that it’s not. They go with EVERYTHING! I wear them from spring and even though the fall with jeans. This is a good item to spend a little more on because you want them to last through the spring and summer, plus you can wear them for years to come.

Let me know what your 5 spring essentials are!

My Mother’s Day Gift Guide

I’ve always found it so hard to shop for a Mother’s Day gift. How do you pick out the perfect gift for someone in your life that is so meaningful? Amazon Basics You Need In Your Closet

amazon basics

It’s starting to warm up here in Utah (which I am SO excited about!), and with the change in weather, I’m always inspired to do a little spring closet cleanout. I usually take inventory of what I have in my wardrobe from seasons past and see what other basics I can add to my collection. Amazon makes it way too easy to find cute, reasonably priced pieces that somehow keep magically showing up at your doorstep two days later.

I’ve been looking forward to stocking up on basics that are equal parts, comfortable and stylish, and these Amazon dresses are the perfect day to evening transition pieces. Spend a day running errands in one of these cute ribbed or maxi dresses, throw on a cardigan, and you’re ready for a night out! I’m also so excited to grab this jumpsuit– perfect for a day around the house with Sage or a family outing to the park.

You guys know I am all about a good workout set, and I’ve found such great basic sets on Amazon in the most fun spring colors. The ribbed material is super soft and comfortable, and I love how breathable and durable the fabric is throughout a workout.

Amazon also has some really perfect date night basics for spring and summer, like this flowy dress with a sweetheart neckline and this cute shift dress that comes in color to match any occasion. You also cannot get more basic than a good pair of Levis and a plain white tee- a definite staple for me because I can mix and match all types of accessories to create multiple looks. If I want to dress up the jeans a bit, I’ll swap out the basic tee for a bodysuit or a knitted tank top.

Arguably the most important basics of all (especially this year) are comfys! This loungewear set is the coziest thing ever and comes in so many different styles and colors. Throw in a pair of fuzzy slippers, and you are ready for the ultimate movie night in!

If you know me, you know my Amazon cart is always full, and adding fun things to refresh my wardrobe basics is no exception. I hope you love these as much as I do! Happy shopping!

What I’m Packing For Florida

We are heading to the sunshine state for a much-needed family vacation! I’m so excited and grateful to be able to get away with my entire family for a few days (we are getting tested before we travel, and once we get home – don’t worry)! It’s been cold and gray in Utah, so I can’t wait to break out some summer clothes and, of course, dress Sagey for summer. I did a little bit of shopping for our trip and wanted to share all of the fun summer outfits, accessories, and beauty products we packed for Sage and me. I packed pretty light for this trip and tried to plan out all of our outfits, so we didn’t over-pack. What always helps me when packing for a trip, especially now that I have a baby, is laying each outfit out with both of our accessories and taking a quick photo so I know exactly what I’m wearing when I get there. I also love to pack in cubes, it’s a LIFESAVER. It keeps everything organized and neat and makes it easier to fit more things in your suitcase. I packed a few Mommy & Me looks from my favorite store, Ivy City, as well as all of our go-to vacation beauty products, including Supergoop Baby Sunscreen, after-sun face masks, and more.

I shared more about some of our must-have items when traveling with a baby in this blog post, so if you’re looking for the best travel stroller, diaper bag, or baby carrier, read more here!

What’s In My Cart For Spring

Ahhh, I feel like Spring is almost in the air. Yes, it did just snow the other day, but I’m mentally already in Spring mode. I just did a MAJOR Spring closet cleanout. If you haven’t cleaned out your closet, it’s so therapeutic. Not only do you feel really accomplished after, but you feel so much lighter. I am definitely a hoarder and hold on to things thinking I will wear them, but I told myself if I haven’t worn it in the last few months; it’s a toss (I donated my clothes!!). Another benefit to cleaning out your closet, more room for fresh items! I like to do a little shopping spree before each season. It’s nice to hit refresh on your wardrobe and add in some new pieces. Although we’re still all at home, my cart is filled with beautiful pastel dresses and warmer clothes for my imaginary vacation I’ll be taking. It’s been fun living in sweats this winter, but I’m ready to break free from my winter uniform and wear a dress – even if I’m just hanging at home with Sage.

Some of my favorite stores to shop for clothes are Shopbop, Nordstrom, and Revolve. You can find items at all different price ranges, and I love stalking their “what’s new” pages because they all have an amazing curation of items. Shop what’s currently in my cart for spring below!

Comfy Outfits I’m Wearing On Repeat Right Now

2020 was all about comfy outfits, but almost 3 months into 2021, I’m still living in sweat sets. Honestly, I’m not mad about it since most days are spent at home with Sagey. From robes and rompers to matching sweat sets, I rounded up all of my favorite comfy outfits I’ve been wearing on repeat right now. New mom life isn’t that glamourous, but I like to feel put together and cozy even if we don’t leave home. I know you’re probably thinking, “not another sweat set,” but a lot of these can be styled and dressed up for when you do leave your home! I normally add some jewelry and cute sneakers with any sweat set, and it instantly elevates the look and makes you look like you aren’t just in sweats. Jumpsuits are also really easy to take from couch to dinner (is that a thing?) – just throw on a cardigan and some booties, and you’ll have the cutest and coziest outfit. I love my jumpsuit I ordered from Old Navy. I saw my mom wearing it and had to have it. It’s buttery soft and is perfect for lounging around, running some errands, or zoom calls.

I shop for most of my cozy clothes on Shopbop, Nordstrom, Amazon, and Revolve. They all have so many great options at all different price ranges. I also linked a few of my favorite robes. Although you really can’t leave the house in a robe, I’ve definitely thought about it before. If you were to invest in one robe, I can’t recommend the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic robe enough. It’s a little pricey but so worth it.

What’s Currently In My Cart For Sage

Ever since Sage arrived and even before, I swear I spend more time looking for cute baby clothes and items than for anything else!! She may never get to wear all of the clothes I buy for her since she’s growing so fast, but they do look cute hanging up in her closet. There are a few items I have my eyes on right now. Since it’s the holiday season, I’ve been looking around for cute dresses and accessories. This is our first Christmas with Sage, so I want to dress her up in all the holiday outfits I can find. Jensen and I did a photoshoot with her the other day, and we dressed her up in so many cute outfits, like this, and I now need every baby animal outfit I can find. Although we won’t be doing what we usually do during the holidays, we’re still trying to make this year special and one to remember. Even if we are staying in and sitting on the couch, I’m still going to dress her up in all the holiday dresses I can find!!

Since this is Sage’s first Christmas, I have a few items in my cart I plan on getting her! I know she’s too young even to know what’s going on, but she’ll be able to use these toys as she gets bigger! I found this cute dollhouse on pottery barn, and I thought it would be the perfect gift. I love gifts you can add on to as the year’s pass. For every birthday, holiday, or special occasion, I can gift her a new item for her dollhouse! Plus, it’s so beautiful and will be a nice addition to her nursery.

I have my eyes on a good travel bag since we’re planning a family vacation soon. This will be our first time traveling with Sage, and I can only imagine all of the baby items I’ll need to bring with me. I have a few diaper bags that keep everything organized, but I want something that can fit some of my belongings and all of Sage’s must-haves while we are on the plane. I found this bag and love all of the compartments. This will be perfect for traveling since it is also a backpack! And since we are going somewhere warm, I added a few swimsuits and summer outfits to my cart as well. I saw this swimsuit, and I couldn’t resist!! Stay tuned for an overload of Summer Sage content.

Not everything in my cart is fun! I added a baby bath I want to try, a smart thermometer, and a few other baby necessities. Shop all the items I have in my cart below!
